Zara Surratt

Zara Surratt earned her Ph.D. in the Department of Religious Studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her dissertation is titled “‘Those Who Wear Black Dresses:’ Immigration and Assimilation at St. Francis Mission School” and examines Catholic participation in Federal Indian Policy during the late 19th and early 20th century and the concurrent experiences of Native American youth.
