A global religious leader, philosopher, author, and moral voice for our time, Rabbi Sacks holds appointments at New York University, Yeshiva University, and King’s College London. He has earned several international awards and will discuss his most recent book, Not in God’s Name: Confronting Religious Violence, which explores the roots of violence and its relationship to religion, focusing on the historic tensions between the three Abrahamic faiths, Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Sacks stresses our need to look anew at scriptural passages—passages that, when interpreted literally, can lead to hatred, violence and war.
